Marilyn Tenney, LPC, has many years of experience as a therapist.  She started working as a counselor at LDS family services in 2001 and focused her work in assisting men and women struggling with sex addiction as well as working with their spouses. She feels passionate about helping individuals and couples to heal and work through past trauma.

Marilyn has years of experience facilitating sex addiction recovery groups for men as well as women, providing support for addicts as well others affected by the destructive patterns of addiction.

Marilyn has a compassionate approach to counseling and has come to appreciate and value the incredible courage it takes for individuals to face life-long struggles and find the willingness to change and heal.  As a counselor, it has been her experience that healing is possible with the help of family, church leaders, fellow recovering people and God.  She knows that there are fundamental principles, which if properly employed, permit people to change.

Marilyn specializes in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and continue to be effected by it.

Marilyn has advanced training in couples therapy using a therapy approach called Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).  This treatment approach is highly successful in helping distressed couples improve their relationship and deepen their bond.

In working with individuals suffering from trauma, Marilyn uses Somatic Experiencing (SE™) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which are both powerful therapy tools that help heal the body after it has experienced and stored trauma.

Rates for Counseling Services

Marilyn does not accept insurance.  Her rates are $100.00 for an initial session and $100.00 for each subsequent session.  Sessions run 50 minutes.  Extended sessions (110 minutes) run $200.00.
